Alessandro Manetti is Design Strategist and manager in the area of design education. A sociologist by profession, he has spent more than 25 years collaborating and researching in the sectors of the creative and cultural economies: fashion, design, communication, creativity, trends and contemporary social changes applied to education. Manetti is a concept designer and creative director with extensive experience managing companies and organizations where human resources are crucial. He is Head of Europe of the design education group LCI Education and curator of Barcelona Design Week 2024.
He has been part of the European Institute of Design (IED) from 1995 to July 2022.
He collaborates with the non-profit association TEDxBarcelona.
He is a Phd candidate in the industrial doctoral program at the UOC Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
The President of the Republic of Italy awarded him with the prestigious honorary distinction of Cavaliere de la “Ordine della Stella” in 2017.
